BURG meets Bristol 2017: an exciting cultural collaboration
Bristol – Germany – Europe
We are very pleased to have been working on an exciting cultural collaboration project for 2017 with the students from BURG University of Art and Design in Halle Germany.
The students will be coming to Bristol to learn about, and experience first-hand what makes this city unique, and develope their own creative skills through tuition, workshops and opportunities.
Independent Cultural Collaboration through Art
This is a totally independent cultural collaboration between WHERE THE WALL and the students and for us, it’s an example of how cultural collaborations are not tied to government policies or arts funding, and happen through the will and determination of people involved.
They will be here from 25th Feb until 5th March, and their activities include familiarising themselves with art and artists on the street with a guided Bristol Street Art Tour, graffiti lettering tuition with lengendary artist Deamze, illustration guidance and painting murals in the Bearpit.
This collaboration is an illustration of the work carried out by WHERE THE WALL to promote and support creative cultural independently.
With a turbulent political climate, and support and funding for the arts insecure and uncertain, WHERE THE WALL finds ways of creating cultural collaborations outside of the usual reliance on funding bodies and institutions.
